Different between Tailoring Unit and VISHMI a Professional Garment Manufacturer/ Fabrication company?

Tailor shops is mostly master-cum-cutter-tailor, who employees few temporary daily wage labourers.

Professional Uniforms company like ours have regular masters, cutters, experienced tailors, even our helpers are experienced to make better Uniforms, besides we have all necessary cut-to-pack facility, (i.e.) fabrication machines, equipments, expertise, communication tools and skill sets to work with your corporate culture. Simple example is a road side mechanic and a company authorised service station.

Should you buy Uniforms from Textile dealers or a Uniform maker?

Textile dealer buy fabric from the mills. We also buy direct from genuine mills at mill rates. After all any quality issues are very serious for us, since we guarantee our Uniforms, besides many textile dealers pass on look-alike as genuine, since they do only half of your job, afterall they print ‘Goods once sold no exchange or return'

Is this risk worth it.......?

Fabric brand names are deliberately confused, ‘Gwalior’ label on selvedges does not means original Grasim Graviera (A.V.Birla Group) instead city name ‘Gwalior’ is misused to confuse buyers, similarly ‘The Harry Collections’ is misused as ‘T.H.Collection’, Raymond is used as ‘Made as Raymond. DigJam as ‘DJ’. ‘S.Kumar’ is misused as S K, Arvind Mills Ltd as ‘Aravind’, so beware. Times of India states fake fabric market generates business worth over 2500 crores.

Textile traders engage unreliable third party to make your uniforms, whose sole motive is making profits, since in most case the tailor is behind the picture and on many occasions don’t have a fixed address or even a fixed telephone. Just enquire what is their experience? You won’t get a genuine answer. Next the textile trader will never give any guarantee either for stitching or even their fabrics, after all they cannot.

Should you buy fabrics and give it to for stitching?

You have to depute your employee to buy the fabrics, are you confident the fabric is genuine? Next you buy them in approx quantity which will be excess or deficit, excess means unwanted junks, deficit means your next batch will have some shade variation or simply no-stock, you run around to get it matched. Next wastage will be more, since tailors use third party goods very liberally, if any mistake in the final Uniforms, both the fabric supplier and tailoring company will happily disown, each pointing fingers crisscross, imagine where your hapless employees stand?

With VISHMI what you need is just one call or email, and it’s all done! You can concentrate on your core activity and increase your productivity with peace of mind. After all your Uniforms from VISHMI comes with warranty.

What is made-to-order and lay-cut?

Made to order is made on individual measurements, that is taken by our master, example - each shirting fabric is spread, marked, individually cut, even collar and fusing is all individually cut and all trims are kept inside and bundled. Here the same tailor makes the full shirt himself with a helper.

Lay-cut is ready made Uniforms process, where full bales are spread in several layers upto 7 ~ 8 inches piles, then the pattern is pinned and cut with cutting machine in bulk, then all pieces are numbered and made in-line-production where each person makes only one part of the Uniform, like collar or sleeve or shoulder etc then final assembly of all parts, this is very swift but sizes are standard like S, M, L, XL, XXL, etc This is faster, quicker, and cost effective.

What is Mill made fabrics?

Branded fabrics and fabrics made in automatic looms, looms that are very start-of-the-art. The weaving is clear, uniform, uniform dyeing, high colour fastness etc. Cheap fabrics are made in power looms that has too many weaving defect, unevenness, dyed in tanks, fade quickly and eventually tear in short time.

Fabric manufacturers & suppliers?

We source the fabrics direct from the mills/distributors, top brands we offer including: Raymonds, Reid & Taylor, Arvind, Grasim, Mafatlal, Siyarams, BSL, Mayur, The Harry Collection, Donear, JCT, S.Kumars, Digjam, Vimal, Lakshmi, Ambassador, Wellworth, Isuzu, Imported & Special fabrics.

Difference between piece/bale dye, yarn dye and fiber dyed?

Piece or bale dye is grey fabric is first made, then it is dyed, here bale to bale shade variation is rampant, this is very traditional process.

Yarn dye is, slightly modern process, where the yarn itself is dyed in a continuous process then the fabric is made, this gives better shade consistency.

Fiber dye is advanced composite mills, where the fiber is dyed, then yarned, which is then converted as fabric, this has excellent shade reliability without any shade variation, the complete process is automated with Swiss machines, all top brands use this technology.

Do Branded uniforms fades or loose sheen?

Even the most expensive Uniforms fade at times due to various reasons, primarily it is in appropriate maintenance, prolonged exposure to sunlight and high humidity, add to it our body heat and work environment heat at time reaches 40~50C, at that temp any Uniform will fade.

Uniform must be washed inside out. Never brush or wring Uniforms, they must be dried flat and in shade, don’t dry Uniforms in direct sunlight. Even enamel paint when exposed to high temperature will fade, next is washing. Aerial® is best suited for washing, Avoid soaking Uniforms, if very soiled then 10 minutes, soaking for more time, strains the fibers and it starts to bleed,  this also make the yarn weaker and reduces breaking strength, eventually the Uniforms may fade and in the rare event even tear. Iron/press at appropriate heat, preferably low heat iron is recommended.

Your company trusts you, so take care of the Uniforms your company invests for you. If proper wash care is followed the Uniforms will be fine for years together.

Why fabric shrinks?

Fabrics shrink only when they are not improperly processed. Branded mills fabrics don’t shrink, since they are pre-shrunk a process which is made to prevent shrinkage in Uniforms. Fabrics we use are from top mills and they don’t shrink at all.

What is covered under Guarantee/warranty and what is not?

Fabric or fabrication defect/s are covered, subject to not following wash care instructions, misuse or abuse of Uniforms, wear and tear damages are not covered, please refer the delivery challan/s for more informations. Recently at time due to clients budgetary constrains we are forced to offer high price reductions and unable to offer any guarantee, hence guarantee must be specified on the offer. A minimum of 4 sets per employee per year must be provided to validate the guarantee.

Life of a Uniforms?

This is a tricky question. Fabric life is based on rubbing cycles, you can use a Uniforms more or less depending on the usage. A person with minimum 8~10 shirts on an average use a same shirt on approx 30~40 instances, that is 30~40 washes per year, where as Industrial Uniforms are washed approx 150 (2 sets) and 100 (3 sets) times. Hence the technical usage is approx usage of over 3 years (2 sets) or approx. usage of  over 2 years (3 sets)

We strongly recommend four sets of uniforms for workwears and 5 sets for executives and this can used for a year minimum.

Need a test report?

Our testing committee* is a member of AATCC, ASTM(USA), TII(UK), BIS (India) ISO 9000+14000 News Service, ISO(Switzerland). Please don’t hesitate to ask for a test report of the fabric, trims, incl. thread, zips etc. What are the various tests parameters?

Physical parameters

- Fiber
- Yarn: Strength, Tenacity, Evenness, Twist per Inch, Yarn Length Etc
- Fabric: Weight, Thickness, Ends-Pick, Yarn Count, Breaking Strength Etc
- Uniform: Seam Breaking Strength, Seam Slippage, Grab Test, Button Strength, Elastic Stretch Test, Permeability, Tear Resistant, Pilling Resistant, Abrasion Resistant (Rubbing), Colour Fastness, Chemical Analysis Etc
More than 100 test parameters are available. (* Textile committee)

You can be sure about the quality of fabric or stitching, we will be rather pleased to provide test report by the best government laboratory (under Ministry of Textiles). However the testing fees will be extra.
